A society where all young people have good health and a good start in adulthood.
Together with medical students, we work for increased knowledge and improved health among young people. We do this through preventive efforts in high schools & high schools around Sweden where medical students educate students about the body and how it is affected by alcohol, drugs and tobacco (ANT). Together with psychology students, we work towards reducing mental illness among today's young people. This is also done through preventive measures in schools but also through conversational support and training of school staff and school health.
We are constantly working towards the vision of a society where all young people have good health and a good start in adulthood. The goal of our medical students' teaching is that the students should get the knowledge and motivation they need to be able to take a stand and make conscious choices about their ANT use and their health. The hope is thus to reduce the importance of alcohol, drugs and tobacco in the social interaction between young people.
The Choice fundraising foundation is a non-profit, non-profit organization, which is politically and religiously independent. The foundation was founded in January 2010 by medical journalist Robert Åkesson and is run in collaboration with medical students & psychology students who lecture to high school and high school students about alcohol, drugs and tobacco (ANT) from a medical perspective, and counteracts the increased mental illness among young people. Today they have taught for over 30,000 students around Sweden.
Most young people already know that alcohol, drugs and tobacco are dangerous, but the knowledge of why is not always there. With the help of the education from Choice, that knowledge gap can be filled. The fundraising foundation Choice's activities are thus based on the following cornerstones:
Information and discussion
Knowledge and awareness
Health and wellbeing
The goal is for all of Sweden's young adults and young people to have the knowledge and motivation they need to be able to take a stand on and make conscious choices about their health and their ANT use. Therefore, knowledge is put in focus instead of propaganda. The aim is thus to reduce the importance of alcohol, drugs and tobacco in the social interaction between young people.
Mental illness is a major problem in society, including in school activities. The Choice fundraising foundation helps the school to promote mental well-being among the students by offering the school a health team consisting of medical students and psychology students, but also through conversational support where the psychology students are available to the students.
The fundraising foundation Choice's goal is for all young people in Swedish society, regardless of background, to have a better health and a good start in life.
