Play Your Part For Ukraine
The record label Chillmi and UN Women Sweden have joined forces and created the initiative “Play Your Part For Ukraine”, as a response to the humanitarian crisis in Ukraine. As we witness the tragedies in Ukraine, it's obvious that it is urgent and that we must act fast. That's why Chillmi has decided to donate its entire income for one week (March 7th- March 13th) to UN Women Sweden, and we ask you to help in any way you can. If you are unable to make a donation, please share this fundraiser or listen to our playlist as this generates more money which will go directly to UN Women Sweden and their work in Ukraine.* You can also buy a Play Your Part For Ukraine Gift Card and give it to someone special. *All of Chillmi’s income is from the streaming of their music. The more streams they get this week, the more money will go directly to UN Women Sweden. Chillmi will not take any of the money made this week. As the heavy military offensive continues in Ukraine, reports of civilian casualties andcivilian infrastructure damage continue to increase, with communities at thebrink of a humanitarian catastrophe. Since the 24th of February, more than 1 million Ukrainians, a vast majority of whom are women, girls and children have fled their homes and sought refuge in neighboring countries. The current situation jeopardizes the safety of all Ukrainians and puts women and girls at increased risk of sexual and gender-based violence, especially those who are refugees or otherwise displaced from their homes. The situation is dire. Many women’s organizations are unable to operatedue to shelling and displacement. UN Women stands in solidarity with the women of Ukraine, including thosewho had to flee their homes and separate from their loved ones, those whostayed to provide humanitarian support in extremely difficult circumstances andat great risk, and the women human rights defenders and activists who aremaking their voices heard in calling for peace. UN Women has been present across Ukraine since 2015. We are committed to supporting Ukraine’s people, especially its women and girls and their families at this time of greatest need. Please donate today. We would like to thank Chillmi for their amazing initiative, if you want to know more about them you can visit their website here.

Protect and empower Ukrainian women and girls
Protect and empower Ukrainian women and girlsSince 24 February, more than 600,000 Ukrainians, a vast majority of whom are women and girls, have fled their homes and sought refuge in neighboring countries. At least 160,000 people have been internally displaced across Ukraine amid frigid winter temperatures. These numbers are expected to increase significantly within the current context, which will reverse the important progress made on gender equality and women’s rights in Ukraine as well as in neighboring countries.UN Women stands in solidarity with the women of Ukraine, including those who had to flee their homes and separate from their loved ones, those who stayed to provide humanitarian support in extremely difficult circumstances and at great risk, and the women human rights defenders and activists who are making their voices heard in calling for peace. We are committed to supporting Ukraine’s people, especially its women and girls, at this time of greatest need.UN Women is working closely with women’s civil society organizations, the UN Resident Coordinator, and the UN Country Team in monitoring the situation to determine how to best continue to deliver on the ground. In Moldova, our team is planning targeted interventions and developing our humanitarian response for Ukrainian refugees.Help us to address the burgeoning needs of Ukrainian women and girls. Gefle IF Soccer and UN Women Sweden in collaboration to strengthen gender equality
Gefle IF Soccer and UN Women Sweden have signed a cooperation agreement to actively and jointly work with gender equality issues through the UN's global initiative HeForShe. - We hope and believe that our joint work to change attitudes, behaviors and norms contributes to a more equal society free from violence and discrimination, says Christina Knight at UN Women Sweden. HeForShe started in 2014 to engage more men and boys in the work with gender equality; against violence, discrimination and injustice affecting women and girls. The initiative is based on the premise that boys' and men's commitment is directly decisive for gender equality to be achieved and that gender equality benefits everyone - socially, politically and economically - regardless of gender identity. Around the world, companies, government representatives, civil society, universities, schools and sports associations work with HeForShe as a platform to strengthen and develop gender equality in their area. We at UN Women Sweden are very happy that Gefle IF Soccer has chosen to become HeForShe. It is incredibly important that more players in sports take the step and actively work with gender equality issues. We hope and believe that our joint work to change attitudes, behaviors and norms contributes to a more equal society free from violence and discrimination, says Christina Knight at UN Women Sweden. Gefle IF Football and UN Women Sweden have the same basic values regarding the equal value of all people. Sport is an important and relevant place for work with, and discussions about, gender equality and norms - how do we behave towards each other, on the field, in the locker rooms and on training sessions? We are convinced that our joint work to change attitudes, behaviors and norms contributes to a more equal society free from violence and discrimination. This is completely in line with our CSR work "A better Gävle" where we aim to increase equality in society, says Daniel Kraft club manager Gefle IF Soccer.
