“I got help to buy a bike so I could exercise a little more as I have a hard time walking, and damn what is cycling here now 😉 Thank you very much! ❤ ”
"Bertil" (actually called something else, is a beneficiary)"Bertil" is 70 years old and suffered from colorectal cancer in 2019. With the help of the hospital's curator, he applied for financial support from the Cancer and Allergy Fund twice, the last time to buy a bicycle in his rehabilitation so he can exercise more gently. The cancer and the treatment had in fact led to a rapid weight gain of 28 kg and difficulty walking.
"Hypersensitivity in the respiratory tract that is not allergic represents a large problem area where society has so far only invested marginal amounts in research. The Cancer and Allergy Fund has deviated from the prevailing paradigm and in various ways highlighted the subject and contributed research funding."
Eva MillkvistProfessor, Sahlgrenska University Hospital.
